You have a light,
I see it in your eyes.
Just in case, no one ever said it... You are special.
Its that brightness, its addictive.
Its amazing. How do you do it?
Your quirks, your missteps - they only add,
though not graceful, you're endearing.
You're so very you.
I simply refuse to be down trodden,
I have spent such time alone with myself,
I know myself well.
I have learned to depend on me,
even those with the best intentions,
the sweetest words falter.
I have steeped in the past,
one I thought I would never climb over,
but somehow I did, I drug myself up
and I looked ahead.
That was the moment my life changed,
the moment my soul sparked,
Lighting my way forward.
