Three lives I have been at war,
within myself -
through legendary internal battles,
may you never bear those sights.
I bend in subtle death, wintered -
sleeping, agéd, vitals subdued.
fallen leaves at my feet,
shed like tears.
But the green heart of me,
is buried deep, waiting -
and I dream of Spring,
his face, for love and liberty.
